THOUGHTS ON: the most reflective time of the year
and how to survive it
Hello dear valued community
It's official, since December 13th we are in the last Mercury retrograde of the year, which of course coincides also with the most introspective and quiet (ahem) weeks of the year. I, have also been very quiet. I fairly haven’t had anything deep and wise to say, which is probably because I’ve felt a little bit lost in life lately. Which is also due to the circumstance that I have literally (and geographically!) no idea where I’m going to be in January. However, it also motivated me to interrupt my hibernation and share with you all the pillars and tools of support that have blessed me big time the last few weeks. They are my go to’s whenever I’m on a cortisol high (way too often) or feel anxiety, restlessness and fear creeping in. I need them now and I know you do so, too.
N°01 EFT Tapping
I recently discovered Brad Yates and the “Emotional freedom technique” through
. I stumbled across his videos many, many times before but never gave it a shot. But here I am, completely obsessed with tapping. He has Videos for all kind of scenarios and situations, so I’m sure you’ll find a home there, too.N°02 Binaural Beats
Again, also a late bloomer (as I guess with anything I mention here, but I sincerely want to share only things that are tried and approved by moi) when it comes to binaural beats. Here and here are my favorite Playlists.
N°03 To be magnetic
No joke, after orbiting around Lacy Phillip’s work and to be magnetic I finally gathered the courage to sig up for the membership. I always wonder why you feel resistance to something and years later you’re absolutely ecstatic about it? Anyhow, I haven’t join the membership because of their amazing “Manifestation challenge” happening right now but rather because I wanted to embark on a rough journey to reconnect to my inner child and it’s totally unnecessary subconscious beliefs around money. The manifestations that are about to unfold simultaneously are surely a big plus. But don’t be fooled, you obviously have to set out in the direction you want to go in order to show the universe that you are willing to commit to longlasting change.
N°04 Kundalini Yoga
Who would have thought it? As much as I cherish my personal daily practice, which usually can last between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on what’s on my schedule for the day, I occasionally enjoy just letting myself go in other teacher’s classes and strangely enough they usually offer exactly what I needed at that moment. If that’s not intuition at work? My favorite places for Kundalini online are RA MA TV, Birjiwan’s membership and Nam Satya’s offerings. However, I’ve also recorded a short meditation for you that can serve as a great ally in not wanting to murder anyone in your surroundings (think overcrowded christmas markets and family gatherings) that only takes 3 minutes and can be squeezed easily into your bursting schedule. You’ll benefit from getting rid of your stored up anger which creates blind spots in your psyche and dims your intelligence.
N°05 Supplements
I always amp up the supplements during winter months to support my body and immune system. As we are all so beautifully unique, I recommend getting your blood checked once in a while to adjust accordingly what your body is lacking. Still, I would say that everyone’s living in the northern hemisphare could use some support with Vitamin D3, during the darker months. Make sure to get one that is paired with Vitamin K2 which enables the D3 to reach your bone mass, rather than just sitting in your tissues. I like this one from Sunday Natural, being one of my favorite shops for clean and high quality supplements. Besides that I reach for St. John’s Wort every winter to balance my mood and keep an overall sense of wellbeing. I’m loving this one from Amina mundi lately, that also contains other powerful plant allies.
Now, those are the main modalities I rely on during stressful and demanding times. I see them as a tool kit to stay regulated and balanced and I don’t practice all of them strictly every day. Instead of removing your fears, I hope they give you the courage to confront them, and help you return to a state of non-resistance where fierceness and surrender exist simultaneously. Nothing in this Newsletter is sponsored, just sharing what I have tried and tested.
How are you doing, love?
Much love, Sabina
